Driving innovation in health: How does Europe remain a global leader in life sciences?

24 May , 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

The aim of the event is to discuss the key drivers for innovation in life-sciences, and what policies are needed to sustain and deliver innovative treatments for patients, having in mind the ground-breaking therapies that are coming, such as gene silencing, CAR-T, cell therapies and many more exciting therapies.

During a series of moderated conversations in the form of fireside chats the following themes will be discussed:

  • How collaboration in research can advance development of treatments and accelerate patients’ access to innovative therapies.
  • What the role of incentives in sustaining innovation in healthcare in Europe is.
  • How we can further empower patients to contribute to the innovation and medicines development process.
  • How we can introduce future innovations into healthcare systems in a sustainable way.

This event forms part of the exhibition entitled “Unlocking tomorrow’s cures” that takes place in the European Parliament between 22 and 25 May on the 3rd floor of the ASP building. This exhibition is a great opportunity to understand the challenges and opportunities in sustainable research and development of new medicines and therapies.
