Making systematic patient engagement a reality across

Medicine and device lifecycles, digital health, data and health systems for better outcomes.

The risk of engaging patients is shifting to the risk of not engaging patients. Key stakeholders have embraced patient engagement and continue to do it across the globe and there will be no turning back.

At a minimum, meaningful Patient Engagement enhances all players’ License to Operate in the health environment.

PFMD is a not-for-profit collaborative initiative benefiting patients and health stakeholders by designing a patient-centred healthcare system WITH patients and all stakeholders.

About the program

The ambition

Time has come to prioritize health; to do it together with patients playing a key role to help shape better health systems and deliver better health outcomes. In PFMD, we believe patient engagement is on the cusp of taking a strategic turn, to scale in drug development, to broaden its geographic spread and to expand in other health systems, in digital health and data or in devices. Our belief is that an investment in the patient community will deliver rich rewards, ensuring better outcomes for patients.

Making systematic patient engagement happen was the goal since PFMD’s start in 2015.
Now, 35 partners are putting in the commitment and work to make it a reality.
